Wishful Thinking vs Manifesting

Once people become aware of the Law of Attraction and that your thoughts create your life, it's very easy to go back and forth over that fine line between manifesting and ad wishful thinking. So what's the difference? Attachment.With wishful thinking, there's an attachment to the result. We reeeeeeally hope it goes well, so that it doesn't go reeeeeally bad. So while, yes, we are seeing the positive of what could be; there's a sliver (or more) of us that is so afraid it won't go right, and something horrible will happen. It just HAS to go right. Here's the problem. According to the Law of Atttraction, 'Like attracts Like'. So whatever energy you're putting out there, the Universe is obligated to return to you. So if there's part of you that's energetically holding back out of fear, the Universe is going to respond with a reason for that fear to be justified.Manifesting however puts the focus on what you want, versus what you don't. And there's no attachment to it "having to happen". So instead of the attached, fearful, wishful thinking thought of "I hope my car doesn't break down today because I need to get to work", the manifesting version of that would be "My car has been so good to me and taken me so many places. Wouldnt it be awesome if it got me to work which allows me to make money and the ability to take care of my car". Manifesting also involves FEELING the thought. You want to feel in your body how you would feel if you got what you wanted. Would you feel warm, goosebumps, uncontrollable laughter, an ear to ear smile? Feeling it in your  your body begins the cellular change in your body and this is where things begin changing. THIS is where thoughts become things. And these "big" issues whether financial, health or relationships begin to shift. A belief is a thought you think over and over and it therefore becomes true for you. So whatever you're thinking over and over, the universe is bringing to you, without fail. It never stops. So why not have it bring what you want, vs what you don't?Much like the blog post on my site about thinking the answer (with your brain/ego) vs KNOWING the answer (with your intuition). Manifesting must come from a unattached place of trusting that you can have and be anything you want and that the universe will answer you with whatever you're energetically lined up with.So keep the phrasing positive as if it's already happened, or that it IS happening like:Wouldn't it be awesome if I got that job?Won't it be exciting when I read that positive pregnancy test?It's so great that I'm feeling better every day.The inspiration for this post came from a volcano. Iceland to be exact. I had a trip planned to Scandinavia for several months to meet family over there who we'd never met. I was so excited mainly because my grandmother had passed away 1 month before the trip and it was her father's family I was going to meet. So it was so important to me that I go. Then I get the call from my mother asking if I had trip insurance because Iceland was going to explode. The last time the small volcano on Iceland exploded it stopped European flights for a week at least. Flights were stranded and people didn'tget their money back from hotels etc. THIS volcano was the BIG volcano with theoretically meant a bigger explosion and that I wasn't going anywhere. Then my husband said "I don't think we're going to make it, they just upgraded it to RED. The next stage is eruption". Then my brain started to go bonkers and I was like "Pleeeeeease don't erupt because I NEED to go on this trip. Please please please....." Pretty attached wouldn't you say? Then the volcano started to erupt. GREAT. But out the sides, not the top, so it wasn't restricting flights. Then my husband would say something about the alert level and I "shhh'd" him and didn't want to hear anything about it, and did the ostrich with its head in the sand thing. If I didn't hear about it, it wasn't happening. That's when I gave myself a reality check and started feeling in my body how it was going to feel when the plane took off, how it would feel meeting my family for the first time, feeling my connection to my grandmother and KNOWING that I would go because I was supposed to. And I went and had the most amazing, precious time amid Iceland's erupting.Whatever it is you'd like to come into your existence most, FEEL it in your body and KNOW that it's coming. You spend less energy being amped up and worried, and more energy toward attracting what you want.Happy manifesting!
